Portugal President Rebelo de Sousa wins new term

Portuguese incumbent President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa was re-elected in Sunday's presidential elections, official preliminary results suggest.

With 89.56 percent of votes counted, the center-right Rebelo de Sousa had 63.2 percent. Andre Ventura, the right-wing Chega party candidate, was on 12.31 percent and former member of the European Parliament Ana Gomes had 10.98 percent.
