Shanghai SIPG beat Hebei Fortune 2-0 in the Chinese Super League on Friday. Hulk and Wu Lei scored to help the Shanghai side move five points clear at the top of the standings.

It didn't look good for the hosts when Hebei winger Gervinho was brought down by goalkeeper Yan Junling in the 31st minute. The visitors were awarded a penalty for the foul on the former Roma player. Ezequiel Lavezzi stepped up, but Yan made a fantastic diving stop to deny Fortune the chance to take the lead.

The Red Eagles soon paid the price for their profligacy as Oscar was tripped in the area to earn a penalty. Hulk did the honors and the big Brazilian smashed into the roof of the net for his fourth goal in six matches.

The hosts put the game to bed 12 minutes from time as Wu Lei had his initial shot saved but headed in the follow-up. This was his ninth goal in six games, and SIPG moved five points clear at the top of the table.

In the standings, top-ranked SIPG now have 18 points, five more than Guangzhou Evergrande, with Shanghai Shenhua third on 11 points. Fourth-place Beijing Guoan have a chance to reach the top three when they travel to Chongqing SWM on Sunday. Jiangsu Suning drew 1-1 with Tianjin Quanjian on Friday to sit fifth.
