The European Union (EU) is committed to increasing non-refundable aid for Vietnam from 300 million euros (340 million U.S. dollars) to 400 million euros during the 2014-2020 period, an EU official said here Thursday.

Franz Jessen, EU Ambassador to Vietnam, told a press conference that so far, EU, together with its member states, has been among the largest non-refundable aid suppliers of Vietnam while being one of the important trade and investment partners of the Southeast Asian country.

In 2015, the EU and Vietnam will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties. A series of people- to-people exchange activities will be held.
