The China Xinhua News Network Corporation (CNC), TV arm of China's state-run Xinhua News Agency, will have its TV shows aired by one of Thailand's major news channels.

The CNC Holdings Limited, owned by the CNC, on Thursday signed a cooperation agreement with TNN24, a 24-hour dedicated Thai- language news channel.

The agreement stipulates that CNC provide TNN24 with English shows about China news, and then TNN24 dub them in Thai and broadcast one show every week.

The two will also start cooperation in exchanges of personnel and advertising, according to the agreement.

This marks the first time that the CNC has expanded its outreach to Thailand's mainstream TV channels, and is of great significance, said Zou Chendong, executive director of the CNC Holdings Limited.

Zou said he expected CNC shows would provide more Thai audience with access to China's news and views.

Thais are deeply interested in China news, Sompan Charumilinda, chairman of the Thai News Network (TNN) Co., Ltd. said, adding that cooperating with the CNC is just the beginning.
