Roadside bomb kills 3 Afghan civilians, wounds 1

A roadside bomb struck civilian car in Taliban former stronghold the southern Kandahar Province on Tuesday, killing three civilians and injuring another, spokesman for Kandahar's provincial government Jawed Faisal said.

"A mine planted on a road in Maiwand district, Kandahar province struck a car at around 10:00 a.m. local time today, leaving three civilians including a woman dead and wounding another," Faisal told Xinhua.

He also blamed the armed militants for organizing the attack. However, Taliban outfit fighting the government has yet to make comment.

A day earlier on Monday, Taliban outfit in a massive suicide attack organized in Zharay district of Kandahar province left 12 people including two civilians, one U.S. soldiers and nine attackers dead.
