UK travel agency launches website to promote Botswana's tourism

UK-based travel agency Tribe Travel in association with Botswana Tourism Organization (BTO) launched a new website to promote Botswana's tourism destinations.

BTO is a parastatal mandated with planning, developing and implementing tourism marketing and promotion strategies for Botswana.

The new website went live on Friday under the name: BotswanaSpecialists.co.uk.

Tribe Travel director Amanda Marks said: "We definitely have knowledgeable specialists who can advise and book safaris in Botswana. But we also know that it's the people on the ground in Botswana, who are the real specialists."

A browse through the website's: The Safari Specialists section gives visitors to the website the opportunity to hear all about Botswana from the people that live and work there -- guides, camp managers, mokoro polers, conservationists, chefs and laundry maids for a unique, fascinating take on their country.

Other features of the website include a choice of 24 (and growing) suggested safari itineraries and prices, 100 lodges, camps and hotels (and growing) with map and details.

In addition, it has more detailed help for anyone considering a trip to Botswana for some inspiration, fancy meeting markets, and highlight on walking with Bushmen experiences.

According to a recently released Botswana Tourism Organization annual report for 2013/14 financial year, tourism made an estimated contribution of 8.4 percent to the Gross Domestic Product.
