Former Paris Saint-Germain striker Wang Shuang, stranded in locked-down epidemic center Wuhan, was shown by a video to have trained alone on a building top.

According to the subtitles of the video released on Sunday, Wang was celebrating the Spring Festival with her family in Wuhan when the capital city of Hubei province was locked down by the authorities to reduce the spread of novel coronavirus.

So the Asian Football Confederation player of 2018 could not get out and had to sit out China's first-phase Olympic qualifiers which are being held in Sydney, Australia.

The video showed that the 25-year-old Chinese playmaker, wearing a blue mask, warming up on the building roof and kicking a ball against a wall. Once she kicked it too hard and the rebounded ball flew so high that she had to stop it with her hands.

The Chinese women's team, cleared by local health authorities after a week-long quarantine in Australia, beat Thailand 6-1 at their first group match on Friday.

They will face Chinese Taipei on Monday and Australia on Thursday at the Group B of the Asian Women's 2020 Olympic football qualification.

The top two finishers of the Group B reach the playoff against the top two finishers of Group A.

Following his side's win over Thailand, Chinese team head coach Jia Xiuquan said that he hoped Wang could train at home to retain good shape in preparation for the playoff.

"Wang Shuang is irreplaceable in my team, we look forward to her return," he said.
