2 dead, 65 injured in S. Korea's chain collision of 100 cars

At least two people have been confirmed dead, with 65 others including seven Chinese injured, in a car pileup accident on Yeongjong Grand Bridge in Incheon, west of South Korea's capital Seoul, local media reported Wednesday.

An airport limousine bus is believed to have rear-ended a car amid thick fog, triggering a chain collision of about 100 vehicles. The exact cause is under investigation.

The accident happened at about 9:30 a.m. local time on the 4.42- kilometer-long bridge's Seoul-bound lane from the Incheon International Airport located in Yeongjong Island near the western port city of Incheon.

As of 1:20 p.m., two were killed and 65 wounded. Seven Chinese reportedly went on the injured list along with five Thais, two Vietnamese, two Japanese, one Russian, one Bangladeshi and one Swiss.

Among the wounded, seven people, including one Vietnamese, are in serious condition. No death was reported among foreigners.
