PARIS, Oct. 8 (APD) - France Interior Minister Christophe Castaner bestowed on Tuesday the nation’s highest award, the Legion of Honor for the four victims of knife attack in Paris police headquarters last week.
The award was given in a morning ceremony in the police headquarters. French President Emmanuel Macron led a national tribute to the slain employees with a speech at the police headquarters following the event. Macron also met privately with the families of the victims.
French authorities have acknowledged radicalization has led to the attack carried out by 45-year-old employee Mickael Harpon on Thursday. Harpon shot to death after did the attack that killed 3 men and 1 woman with another injured woman immediately rushed to a hospital for an immediate surgery due to the attack.
French justice officials said that investigators found a USB stick belonging to the killer, containing information about his colleagues.
Aftermath the attack, France government intends to launch two inquiries into radicalization, consisted of in Paris police and in the intelligence agency responsible to tackle terrorism in the country.
