APD | Estonia, Czech Republic named most competitive economies in Emerging Europe

**GENEVA, Oct. 9 (APD) - **The World Economic Forum (WEF) named Estonia and Czech Republic as the most competitive economies in emerging Europe region as the two countries obtained highest scores in WEF’s Global Competitiveness Report.

Both countries score 70.9 of from the ceiling score of 100, placing them at 31st and 32nd respectively on a global list of 141 economies, according to the recently-published report.

The other economies in the region that make it to the report’s Top 50 are Slovenia (35th), Poland (37th), Lithuania (39th), Latvia (41st), Slovakia (42nd), Hungary (47th) and Bulgaria (49th).

Bosnia and Herzegovina which ranked at 92nd apparently is the lowest ranking economy in the region listed in the report.

The report that has been made since 1979 is defined as the set of institutions, policies and factors that determine the level of productivity of a country.

The Global Competitiveness Report has been widely used by leaders of governments, private sector executives and to work together in booting the productivity and generate prosperity.

This year Singapore is ranked the world’s most competitive economy, taking over the number one spot from the United States.
