Addressing the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, on 21 September 2021, President Joe Biden has said “We meet this year in a moment of — intermingled with great pain and extraordinary possibility. We’ve lost so much to this devastating — this devastating pandemic that continues to claim lives around the world and impact so much on our existence. We’re mourning more than 4.5 million people — people of every nation from every background. Each death is an individual heartbreak. But our shared grief is a poignant reminder that our collective future will hinge on our ability to recognize our common humanity and to act together.”

He is right to identify Pandemic as a big challenge to humanity. The US is the country hardest hit by the Pandemic. It requires appropriate preventive measures and the right policies to win against the Pandemic. Unfortunately, the US, under the Trump administration, at the beginning of Pandemic, has overlooked the seriousness of the challenge and focused only on bashing China, blaming China, and trying to fix responsibility on China. All his efforts and energies were focused on China. As a result, the Pandemic is rooted deeply in society and spread worldwide, then it has become rather a bigger challenge and more difficult to overcome.

He is right to fight against pandemics collectively, and China is the only country that has achieved success in the fight against pandemics, Chinese experience may be used as a guideline. Chinese Vaccine which has very much popularity worldwide for its effectiveness, without any reported side effects or adverse reaction, should be owned and recognition in America and globally. While desiring a victory against Pandemic and confronting China, leaving Chinese experiences aside, is rather irrational. Even, the US is politicizing the Pandemic and spare no opportunity to promote anti-China sentiments.

He further said “Will we apply and strengthen the core tenets of inter- — of the international system, including the U.N. Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as we seek to shape the emergence of new technologies and deter new threats? Or will we allow these universal — those universal principles to be trampled and twisted in the pursuit of naked political power?”

Unfortunately, the US is the biggest violator of the UN Charter and Human Rights. Iraq war was initiated with fake news of Weapons of Mass Destruction, and the UN was misled and pressurized. Millions of people were killed in the Iraq war, Human Rights were violated severely. It is not only one time, but a repeated practice, in Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, etc. The US has become the biggest violator of human rights and the UN charter. The UN and International court of justice (ICJ) may initiate trial against all those who were involved in all these wars and committed human rights violations, a severe punishment must be announced for all war criminals and human rights violators. War compensation must be fixed on them to reconstruct the damages caused by imposed wars.

Citing US withdrawal from Afghanistan, he tried to get the credit for ending the war. But he has not acknowledged his defeat in Afghanistan and still interfering in the internal affairs of Afghanistan. The US is over-engage in Afghanistan to destabilize it and putting the new government under pressure. The US policy in Afghanistan is totally against the UN charter and all civic ethics. On the other hand, while he was trying to get the credit for ending the active war in Afghanistan, has announced a new military alliance AUKUS, which is directly aimed to counter and contain China. He wanted to send a message that ending old wars, which he cannot win, so, wanted to initiate a new war against China? Is this true?

However, rejoining the Paris Climate Agreement, and intentions to retake a seat on the Human Rights Council next year at the U.N, is very much encouraging and appreciated. His remarks “U.S. military power must be our tool of last resort, not our first, and it should not be used as an answer to every problem we see around the world.” Are also be appreciated, if he will keep his words.

He mentioned his intention to prevent Iran from Nuclear Power and the Korean peninsula as a nuclear-free zone. But announced to equip Australia with Nuclear submarine, is not it contradict his actions with his words?

We believe no discrimination among human beings, based on nationality, ethnicity, religion, race, etc., but demands respect to humankind. UN Charter looks quite well and needs to be respected by all nations, and individuals, including the US. The UN must be reformed and strengthened to implement its mandate. The UN must implement its resolutions on Palestine and Kashmir, which were pending since 1948, the US may not resist or undue lobby for India and Israel, and may not use veto power. Let, the UN rule the world with justice and equality, without any discrimination. No one should be above the UN.
