Pakistan wins Davis Cup tie against South Korea by 4-0

**ISLAMABAD, Feb. 3 (APD) ** -- Pakistan beat South Korea by 4-0 in the Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Zone Group-I tie in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad on Saturday.

On Saturday, the Pakistani duo of Aisam ul Haq and Aqeel Khan outclassed the Korean pair of Soon Woo Kwon and Yong-Kyu Lim by 2-0 (7-6, 6-4) in the doubles.

In the reverse singles, Pakistan's Muhammad Abid Ali Akhbar beat Korean Minjong Park by 2-0 (7-6, 7-6).

Earlier on Friday, Pakistan took a dominating lead of 2-0 in the men’s singles of the Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Zone Group-I tie after the country’s Aisam and Khan outclassed their South Korean counterparts including Soon Woo Kwon and Seong Chan Hong, respectively.

Speaking to media, Pakistan’s non-playing captain Hameed ul Haq said he can't express his happiness for Pakistan winning the tie and all the credit goes to Aisam and Aqeel Khan.

Aisam said Pakistani team was weaker than the South Koreans on paper but they delivered their best and won the tie.

With Saturday's victory, Pakistan has qualified for Round 2 of the Group against Uzbekistan.
