Chinese businesses in Vietnam's HCM City updated with information on labor law

More than 500 representatives from Chinese enterprises operating in southern Vietnam gathered here on Saturday for a meeting during which they were updated with the latest information on the Labor Law of Vietnam.

The event, held by China Business Association -- Ho Chi Minh City branch (CBAH), provided participants with information and press articles written about the local labor law, from which they could exchange views and discuss about related issues.

Among the main issues were the updated regulations on implementation of some provisions of the labor code such as labor contracts, job trial period, salary, employers'and employees' responsibility for implementing the labor law, and their disputes and measures to solve them.

Representatives from the HCM City Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and lawyers from the city's law offices answered the participants' questions about the above-mentioned issues.

On the occasion, a reception was held by CBAH to welcome the lunar New Year 2015 with the attendance of Chinese Consulate- General in HCM City Chai Wen Rui, and other guests from business associations of China's Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore.

Established on Dec. 10, 2012, the CBAH is a non-governmental and non-profit organization, with members being Chinese firms doing business in Vietnam in the fields of manufacturing, trading, transportation, architecture, consulting services, banking-finance and others.

Currently, CBAH has 450 members.
