APD | Earthquake Sends 25 People to Hospitals and Destroys Public and Private Facilities

MANILA,July.14(APD) – At least 25 persons were rushed to Madrid District Hospital in Surigao del Sur after a 5.5 magnitude earthquake shook the town and nearby provinces. Three were referred to a secondary hospital in Tandag City for further medical attention. The injured came from Lanuza, Carmen, Madrid and Cantilan towns.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC),

two Catholic churches, one from Lanuza and the other in Carmen suffered serious damages. Public markets and municipal halls were not spared from the damages. Several homes suffered serious from slight damages.
