APD | Ten killed in van-bus accident in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO, April 17 (APD) -- Ten people were killed when a bus crashed into a van in Sri Lanka early on Wednesday morning.

The Police said that all 10 killed were those travelling in the van. Among those killed are three children.

The accident occurred near a school in Mahiyanganaya, loctaed close to the central hills of Sri Lanka.

According to the Police, the private bus was heading towards the eastern town of Trincomalee when it crashed head on with the van.

The driver of the van had reportedly fallen asleep while driving resulting in the accident.
