Power station fire leaves thousands without electricity in Queensland

An explosion and fire at the Callide Power Station in central Queensland, Australia, left thousands of households and businesses without power on Tuesday, local media ABC News reported.

Electricity has since been restored across Queensland, but local residents were asked to reduce their energy use, according to the report.

The incident happened at about 2 p.m., local time, and no injuries have been reported, ABC News said.
