Fiery crash at Daytona 500

Michael McDowell won the Daytona 500 NASCAR race in Florida for the first time, following a fiery 16-car pileup early in the race ahead of lap 15. The 500 mile, 200 lap race was attended by about 30,000 fans in the stands and a “few thousand” more in the infield according to Speedway officials.
