Two new COVID-19 infections were recorded in Syria on Friday, bringing the total number in the country to 47, the health ministry said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Syria has so far recorded 27 recoveries and three deaths from COVID-19, according to the ministry statement.
The first COVID-19 infection was reported in Syria on March 22 while the first death was on March 29.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Monday warned of a "real catastrophe" in case of an increase in the number of COVID-19 infections in Syria.
