James Corden, Ed Sheeran get down to 'Shape of You' on 'Carpool Karaoke'

Before James Corden talked Gordon Ramsay into driving him to LAX to catch his flight to London, theLate Late Showhost took Ed Sheeran for a ride in the latest edition of "Carpool Karaoke."

In between belting The Shape of You and Sing (Sheeran was especially eager to see if Corden had mastered the rapid-fire lyrics on that one), Sheeran filled his driver in on what he did during his sabbatical year: "It was three months' proper traveling and then I made an album for like eight months."

Asked if he was still on his "no-phone, no-Internet thing," the singer said the only thing he does now is email. "I don't even have a phone anymore. I had a phone for like two weeks and I just didn't charge it. It's just like what it would have been like 30 years ago for our parents," he shrugged.

Corden also decided to verify that Sheeran can cram 41 malted milk balls into his mouth, simultaneously demonstrating that you can fit a large candy jar in the console of a Range Rover. (It does kind of make sense that a brand as prone to breakdowns as Land Rover should allow you to store ample provisions to sustain you while you wait for roadside support).

Sheeran did him 14 better, getting 55 into his mouth.
