Ruling Coalition wins Malaysia's general election

The ruling coalition has achieved a parliamentary simple majority to retain power in Malaysia's general election, Election Commission said early Monday

Election Commission Chairman Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof announced that the ruling Barisan Nasional has won 112 seats in the 222 seats in lower house of parliament to secure a simple majority.

The final result remains unknown as the counting process is still on the way.
