APD | Indian Prime Minister to visit Saudi Arabia

According to recent reports, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Saudi Arabia on 29th October to attend the annual investment forum organized by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.

Modi will be addressing the forum called Future Investment Initiative, which is considered as a significant business and investment platform in the Asian region. This year the theme of the forum is “What is Next for Global Business."

The Indian prime minister will also be holding talks with the Saudi leaders during his day-long visit. He is scheduled to meet Saudi King Salman as well as the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The Saudi crown prince is expected to host a lunch for Prime Minister Modi.

In February, at the beginning of this year, Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman had visited India.

In early October, India’s National Security Adviser, Ajit Doval visited Riyadh, setting the stage for Prime Minister’s visit.

Various topics related to trade, investment as well as Kashmir, could be brought up during the discussion between Modi and the Saudi leaders.
