Six more people tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Austria on Tuesday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the Alpine country to 24, according to the Ministry of Health.

There are now 14 cases in Vienna, three each in Lower Austria and Styria, and two each in Tyrol and Salzburg.

According to the Ministry of Health, 2,683 tests had already been carried out across the country by Tuesday afternoon.

The number of new infections in Austria is "relatively stable", said Austrian Health Minister Rudolf Anschober at a press briefing Tuesday. "The basic strategy works."

With the coronavirus dominating social media in Austria, Twitter has launched an eduction tool in cooperation with the Agency for Health and Food Security (AGES).

In Austria, as soon as the #Coronavirus trend is clicked or a search is made for certain keywords on Twitter, the tool will appear on the upper area of your screen, providing relevant and verified information to users.

"As a scientific institution, AGES provides quality-assured facts in times of fake news. Understandable, credible and transparent information can win the trust of the population. This is particularly important because citizens need trustworthy information, especially in times of crisis," said Thomas Kickinger, managing director of AGES, to local media.
