China's CanSino Biologics Inc has proposed supplying "tens of millions of doses" of its single-dose COVID-19 vaccine to the global vaccine-sharing scheme known as COVAX (COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access), a senior executive of CanSinosaid on Thursday.

Pierre Morgon, senior vice president at CanSino, said the firm made the proposal last December to supply vaccines between late 2021 and the end of 2022. "We are happy to go beyond 2022 if there was still an expectation to do so," said Morgon.

The offering to COVAX, an initiative for developing nations backed by the World Health Organization (WHO), is the lowest price that CanSino uses in markets outside China. Richer countries are subject to prices about three times higher.
