2 police officers killed in car bomb attack in SE Turkey

Two police officers were killed and many others wounded in a car bomb attack that hit the police headquarter of Midyat district in southeastern province of Mardin on Wednesday morning, Hurriyet News reported.

Many ambulances and security reinforcements were sent to the scene after the attack.

The bomb-laden car was detonated as it was passing through the security barriers at the entrance of the headquarters. Some nearby buildings were also damaged in the blast.

On June 7, Istanbul was hit by a car bomb attack, which targeted a police vehicle in Istanbul's Vezneciler neighborhood, killing 11 people.
