China's Foreign Ministry on Friday said the U.S. should invite World Health Organization (WHO) experts to look into two mysterious illnesses that occurred in the U.S. in 2019 instead of questioning the WHO's report on COVID-19 origin tracing.

"When will the U.S. elaborate on the unexplained respiratory disease in northern Virginia in July 2019 and illnesses related to e-cigarette use in Wisconsin? Does the U.S. have the will and courage to let WHO experts onto its soil to investigate?" Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian asked at Friday's press briefing after the U.S. called for further investigation of COVID-19's origins.
