A total of 96 Israelis tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday in the biggest single-day increase in Israel so far, the Israeli Ministry of Health said.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Israel to 433, it said.

Of the 278 patients being treated in 24 hospitals across Israel, six are in serious condition, 12 in moderate condition and 260 in mild condition.

Of the remaining 155 cases, 76 are treated in home quarantine, 11 have recovered, and the remaining 68 will be treated at home or in the hospital in accordance with the decisions to be made soon, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, Israel has begun using digital means to locate people who were in contact with confirmed patients.

This method locates the places that the patients have visited by tracing their smartphones, as well as those who were in the same places at the same time.

Thus, 400 people were located on Wednesday and required to immediately enter home quarantine.
