Macao hotel occupancy rate reaches 87.9 pct in November 2013

The average occupancy rate of Macao' s hotels reached 87.9 percent in November 2013, with four-star hotels leading at 90.8 percent, according to figures released by the city's Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) on Tuesday.

A total of 881,202 guests checked into local hotels and guest- houses in November, up by 5 percent year on year.

There were 98 hotels and guest-houses operating at the end of November 2013, providing 27,773 guest rooms, up by 6.6 percent year-on-year; 5-star hotels had 18,377 rooms, accounting for 66.2 percent of the total, according to the DSEC.

In the first eleven months of last year, visitor-guests of the hotels and guest-houses accounted for 70.1 percent of the total number of overnight visitors, higher than the 65.2 percent in the same period of 2012, the DSEC said.
