Hong Kong reports no new COVID-19 cases for 2 days in a row

Hong Kong's Center for Health Protection (CHP) reported no new confirmed cases of the COVID-19 on Monday, the second day in a row and the fourth time since last Monday.

As of 4:00 p.m. local time on Monday, no new confirmed cases of the COVID-19 had been recorded, and the total number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong remained at 1,037, the CHP said.

The CHP also reported no additional COVID-19 cases on Sunday.

The CHP again urged members of the public to maintain an appropriate social distance with other people as far as possible in their daily lives to minimize the risk of infection and outbreak clusters in the community.

According to Hong Kong's Hospital Authority, as of Monday noon 787 patients who had COVID-19 confirmed or as probable infections have been discharged from the hospitals upon recovery.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region announced on Monday that a funding totaling 111 million Hong Kong dollars (about 14.32 million U.S. dollars) has been approved to support the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong to conduct 26 medical research studies on the COVID-19.
