A fire was seen at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem on Monday as tensions between Israeli forces and Palestinian protestors intensify. The blaze was said to be a tree that caught fire and was later put out, Reuters reported. No damage was caused to the mosque.

The site is holy to both Muslims and Jews and includes the mosque, the third holiest site in Islam, and the Temple Mount, the holiest site for Jews. Muslims have been commemorating Ramadan at the mosque while Jews have been celebrating Jerusalem Day, the day Israel captured East Jerusalem and the Old City from Jordan in the 1967 war
