Did you know an estimated 12.7 million metric tons of plastic enter the ocean from land each year? World Oceans Day falls on Tuesday, June 8, and we are looking at efforts across the globe that promote action and awareness for protecting our waters.

CGTN’s Mark Niu took a look at how one initiative called the Clean Current Coalition is using technology to take on plastic waste.
