4 women killed, 2 children missing in boat fire in Myanmar

YANGON, March 18 (Xinhua) -- A total of four women have been killed with two children going missing in a fire ripped through a motor boat near Kyaukphyu township, Myanmar's Rakhine State, according to the Information Committee of the State Counselor's Office Saturday. The incident occurred on Friday at about 1:35 p.m. local time (7:05 GMT). With 15 people including seven men and eight women on board, the boat caught fire when it was heading to a traditional charity activity in a village near the town. People on board tried to escape by running out of boat but drowned. A total of nine people were saved by local authorities and are being taken care at a naval camp near the area.
