ASEAN music contest to be held in S. Vietnam

The ASEAN Music Competition 2015, Be Our Rock&Pop Soul, will be held, for the first time, in Vietnam in September, local newspaper Vietnam News reported Tuesday.The event is open for contestants aged under 30 from Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei and Vietnam. Soloists or bands have to register and submit their video entries, which will then be reviewed and selected by judges for the semi-final round on Sept. 6.The final round will take place on Sept. 7 in Ho Chi Minh City. The winner will receive a prize of 25,000 U.S. dollars.Singer Thanh Bui, principal of the Soul Music Academy in Ho Chi Minh City, will be the only Vietnamese judge at the contest. He was in the top eight of the Australian Idol 2008 contest.  Enditem
